Opening soon · Downtown Exeter

We're nearly open. Come and see it before we are.

The Colab is a shared professional workspace at 122 South E Street — desks, two private rooms, a kitchen, a patio, and a room you can rent for an evening. We're excited to bring a place for connection and collaboration to downtown Exeter, and we're giving tours now.

Call or email and we'll set up a time. There's no form to fill in and nothing to pay today.

The Colab's main room in downtown Exeter: the long walnut table with brass lamps, and green sofas and leather chairs under three tall curtained windows.

About

What we are

A shared professional workspace on the second floor at 122 South E Street, in the middle of downtown Exeter. Somewhere to do a full day's work, take a client meeting behind a door, and host something in the evening — without leaving town.

A real place to work
One open main room with desks, lounge seating under the windows and a long communal table. Fast Wi-Fi, coffee, a full kitchen and a copy room. Not a coffee shop, and not your kitchen table.
A door when you need one
Two private rooms with a glass door — for a focused hour, a video call with nobody walking behind you, and taking a call out of the main room. Each one is fully enclosed and panelled inside — quiet, though not sealed: a raised voice still carries. Book one by the hour; the 16-seat table is there for the days your whole team is in.
For people whose work is real but whose office has been a laptop
Consultants, agents, advisors, bookkeepers, designers, remote employees and small teams — people who need somewhere professional to work and somewhere professional to be seen.
An address you can put on a card
Business mail handling, packages held for pickup, and a downtown address that is a building rather than a post-office box.
A venue after hours
The Colab rents for workshops, trainings, dinners and gatherings — kitchen included. Most venues this size will not let you near the kitchen. Ours is yours for the night.
Built for Exeter
Downtown, upstairs from Monet's, with street parking right outside. Close enough to walk to, and close enough to leave when the day is done.

You don't have to build alone here.

The space, the rooms and the prices below are settled. What isn't switched on yet is signing up and paying online — so for now, memberships, day passes and venue dates are arranged by phone or email, and we'll hold your place the same day.

Monday–Friday, 8 AM–6 PM. Weekend access for Collaborate members during designated hours when the space isn't reserved for a private event.

Who it's for

Built for people who work for themselves, from here.

Independent professionals

Consultants, agents, advisors, designers, bookkeepers — people whose work is real but whose office has been a laptop. A place to work, a room with a door when you need one, and an address you can put on a card.

Remote workers

You have the job. What you don't have is the separation between work and the rest of the house. Come in when you need to, go home when you're done.

Small teams

Two to six people who need to be in the same room some of the time without signing a five-year lease for a building you'd have to furnish yourselves.
